Milaidhoo Maldives

A 50-villa boutique resort in Baa Atoll's UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, just south of Hanifaru Bay's manta-ray cleaning station. Thatched villas, a heritage-inspired design language, and a 35-minute seaplane from Velana.

The MT Verdict

A small-scale Baa Atoll boutique with a strong sense of place — Maldivian heritage in the materials, an under-50-villa scale, and the manta migration zone of Hanifaru Bay on the doorstep.

The Villas

Milaidhoo runs 50 villas — Beach Pool Villas tucked into the palm forest and Water Pool Villas on stilts over the lagoon, all thatched and built from natural materials. The unit count is by design: the resort markets itself as deliberately small.

Dining

The line-up runs three restaurants — Ocean (over-water Maldivian-fusion fine dining), Ba'theli By the Reef (boat-shaped over-water restaurant), and Shoreline Grill on the beach.

Spa & Family Policy

The Serenity Spa handles the wellness side. Milaidhoo enforces a children-from-eight-and-up policy, so the resort skews adult and honeymoon-heavy.

Logistics

Transfer is a 35-minute seaplane from Velana International Airport. The resort sits in the UNESCO Baa Atoll Biosphere Reserve, near Hanifaru Bay's seasonal manta-ray gatherings (June to November).
