The Villas
Kandolhu has 30 villas — Beach Villas, Pool Villas with private plunge pools, and the curving over-water chain of Water Villas. The architecture is darker timber and grey-stone — quieter than most North Ari resorts.
Diving & House Reef
The house reef is the resort's defining feature — a wall of healthy hard coral within easy snorkel distance of the overwater villas, plus access to nearby cleaning stations frequented by mantas and whale sharks during the southwest monsoon.
Dining
For a 30-villa resort, the dining is unusually broad: four restaurants — The Market (all-day), Banzai (Japanese), Olive (Italian), and a wine cellar — plus the Dune sandbank deck.
Logistics
Transfer is a 25-minute seaplane from Velana International Airport. The resort sits on Kandolhudhoo (now Kandolhu) island in North Ari Atoll and is operated by Universal Resorts, the long-established Maldivian group.
